People typically hire us because of Kim's giftedness in envisioning the potential in a space instead of just seeing what is currently there. However, when we've come up with a design plan, that vision is very hard to communicate to our clients since the room is still as it was. We use photos on a display board of different elements that we're pitching to them and that definitely helps, but there is almost always still a disconnect because people aren't able to imagine what all of those different elements look like together in their room.
That disconnect drove us to find a tool that can help us create a basic 3D visual of most of those elements in their space. It's basically a CAD program. I thought I'd show you an example of a space that we're finishing up later this week where the CAD program came out remarkably similar to the finished product. What makes this design's computer rendition so closely resemble the final product is that we are doing an extremely simple, modern design in the space. So, typically the less accessories we put in a space, the more closely the computer drawing will resemble the finished product.
Here's a before photo of the space:

Here's the computer rendition we did of the plan when we first presented it to them:

And here's a photo of the actual completed room:

Pretty cool, huh? :)
This tool helps us communicate what's in our heads in order for them to approve the design plan. As you can see, they liked pretty much everything in the original design, so it all went according to plan!
