| This is a family room that we did for a couple who had the amazing large art piece already hanging in the space. They wanted the TV left in the space, but didn't want the room to be "all about" watching television. Here are some before pictures and then below those we have several after pictures that show different parts of the space.
One thing we addressed right away was how to place this wonderful art piece in a more prominent position in the room. Another thing that we tackled was how to create more richness and warmth by changing the pinkish brick out from around the fireplace. We then softened up the space by picking an area rug that had a very fun pattern and grounding it with a dark sectional. Then we added tall curtains to help soften everything up and to carry your eye up to the tall ceilings. The curtains helped bridge the gap between the lower part of the fireplace wall and the upper part of that same wall where the art piece is. Add a few splashes of red to give the room some fun color and charm and don't forget the fabric chair in the cow pattern for that extra piece of whimsy! We truly love the way this family room turned out!
